Ride or drive?.....it's a distinction without a difference. It's fun to discuss it, though........

Maybe I'll just "guide" my rig. Feels that way sometimes like when flying the chair.

I you ride a horse by pulling on it's reins you aren't riding it and the horse needs to be retrained, if he does't buck you off first. The only pulling you do with the reins is to stop or backup. Other than that you lean the reins from one side to the other to go in the opposite direction of the rein pressure on the horse's neck. Just like rideing a bike or 2wheel motorcycle.

Yes it matters. Words have meaning and if we don't use them properly we'll digress to nothing but grunts. I don't aspire to that. Do you?
