Rainy Daize
Well we should be getting the Liberty triple tree parts sometime this week and it looks like it will be a self install deal, been wondering if it will change the set up any, the front end being pushed out some, seems like it would lower the front end and if it does what effect might it have if any?
We’ve put almost a 1000 mi on this bad boy since Christmas, and have really been enjoying the ride! Of course this weekend is rainy and cold so I upgraded her foot board ----oooowee the base is cut out of a 3/8” plate w/holes for the after market insert to snap into, the stock board was a little small and unsafe feeling for her.
not sure if I’m doing the link thing right??
Using the stock fork leg length also helps reduce trail by a small amount. The slight change in attitude of the chassis stance is unnoticable except for a larger space between the front tire and the downtubes of the frame.
You will lose the fork lock and can junk the damper.
The damper bracket can now be used for a driving light or air horns if you wish.

Wonder if I could get Lonnie to ride over here to the shop next weekend?
I'll spring for coffee and doenuts!
Gee Wizz, I post a link to my rainy day foot board modification and I don’t get nothing…….no at-a-boy?…..how bout a hey Duck that’s some kinda outstanding foot board!!, what an idea!!, unparalleled workmanship!!…you-da-man dood you-da-man!!!! …Nope nothing…
the pain…..the rejection… 🙁
yup it’s still raining
Duck,
Don't be disappointed about the inserts feedback, a lot of the group have only footpegs and they are envious of you. I got the same reaction way back when I married a redhead instead of a blonde.
FYI: I let Pete & co. install my trees since they do it almost daily. I've found that if you are willing to pay people, some are willing to do these tedious jobs. Sure saved my knuckles.
All I did was mount a halogen running light (blowing several 15 amp fuses since my buddy kept grounding out the hot lead when I was searching for an accessory circuit). No, I didn't disconnect the battery. I was looking for a hot wire.
My other major wrenching operation at the time was removing the black damper bracket on the forks and installing a chrome shield there. "Whew"

Yea well I hope it’s not a Harley thing, all I want is praise, admiration, envy, name in lights, be a guest on a talk show, etc, etc. after all that is one fine foot board!!!
I be tryin ta get John ta do the triple tree deal---Washington is just to far to go.
Oops…got to go they’re comin after my password
