PBTF Ride For Kids
My brother and I rode in the Atlanta Ride For Kids this past weekend. This was our first time doing the ride. This ride was our goal for getting the SR500 Bingham rig together. My brother rode the Bingham Rig and I rode the Velorex 560 rig.
All I can say is what a great event! The kid in my rig was an 11 year-old that was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in November 2007. He's been through three chemo treatments with seven more to go over the next 8 months. Even though we had a bit of rain, his grin was a mile wide. It was his first time on a motorcycle and is looking forward to getting one of his own. I hope to be able to take him to school in the fall . What's cooler than showing up to school in a sidecar?. I shed a few tears (in the privacy of my helmet) for the tough little dude.
Please make a point of trying to make this ride with your rig. It's a great way to touch some very special kids and their families. Just contact the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (www.rideforkids.org) to find out how you can help.
Ride safe.
