Well, I have been wanting a Ural for about a year now. Last Saterday I was going to take my wife by the dealer (CaliforniaBossHoss) and show her what they look like in person. We were dragging our feet all day and didnt make it in time. So on Sunday we were kinda in the area and I decided to drive by. Maybe she could see one through the window. No luck seeing one in the window BUT, The owner Victor was there and he let us in and showed them to us. I got the OK from my wife and I bought a new 2006 Ural Retro on the spot. Picked it up Monday on my lunch break and drove it the 90 miles home after work. ( Yes I commute 90 miles one way)

Edit:

By the way I am in So Cal, I live in Lancaster Ca and work in Torrance Ca

Congradulations on your new purchase.
Last week-end we attended the Atlanta bike show and came across the Ural display, watched the video and got caught up in the enthusiasm. Started checking on the Gear-UP 2WD, locating dealers and pricing. As of today I contacted dealer in So. Carolina and am going to pickup tomorrow, my 2006 Gear-up 2WD and can't wait. I know what I'll be dreaming of tonight. We live in Suches, Georgia (North Georgia Mountains) and wanting to know if anyone else out there lives in this area. Would like to meet other Ural owners. I have been in motorcycling since 1951 and currently ride a BMW K1200RS, K1200GT and K1200LT with Hannigan sidecar. I'm adding this Gear-up to my stable and is going to be a great addition. Because of the area where I live there are so many great secondary roads and forest roads that I know I'll have many hours of enjoyment with this machine. I always enjoyed off road riding years ago when I was younger but I have been mostly a road rider for the last 15 years. The Gear-up will give me an opportunity to get to places I can't get to with my other bikes. Look forward to hearing from anybody that has information on the Ural Gear-up such as rally's and lives in this area.
