New rig today
I picked up a slightly used 06 Ultraclassic with matching Ultra Sidecar today. My wife says I am a brand whore, but man is it cool. What a difference from my CSM rig, I have to learn all over again since it feels like the Harley rig will fly with no effort and my CSM hardly ever came off the ground. I put my 100Lbs of ballast behind the seat for safety and need some parking lot time. I will post pics later but need to know if it is normal for it to pull to the right to the point where I fill like I need to have constant pressure to keep it straight. No wollbles and it is super easy to steer so I assume there has been a steering mod done.

Aloha
Not normal to pull hard to the right. My Road King is easily one handed on the straight aways. Check your alignment and lean out. My initial set pulled hard right because I was leaned in. Once I got a slight lean out, it straightened right up.
I also find the chair coming up easily. I have maybe 50# of stuff behind the seat and it pops right up if I am not careful. I believe the primary weight on the left of the centerline may set harley center of gravity a little left of most other bikes.
This is all information that came to mind and in no way has been tested, verified, proven or in any way corroborated by fact.......
enjoy your new ride

Here are a few pics
Very Nice. Good luck with the rig...
Nice looking rig, enjoy it!
May just be the pic, but the head on shoot looks like the bike is leaned in a bit, that would account for the steady pull. As mentioned above, check the alignment and lean angle.
I wonderd that since my other rig had visible lean out and tracked true. This one looks a little leaned in. I did 200 miles yesterday and my rt palm is sore from keeping constant pressure. I hope the dealer will adjust it since I just got it. Otherwise I will get the manual and figure it out.

The manual says 1 degree lean in. They work better on most roads if the lean out is 1 degree positive. Especially with a passenger.

Sweet Rig!!
Great picture! Now I know what my Ultra will look like in a few weeks when mine is put on.

I talked to the tech today that maintained the bike. It is set at 1 degree in and they had to set it there to not pull to the left for the previous owner. I have met him and bet I have 140 pounds of rider ballast so maybe neutral or a degree lean out will do it. I ordered the manual today and will try adjusting lean next weekend.

the manual will save you lots of time messing with stuff
when you get the manual you will realize that what they have in mind with one degree lean in is that when the bike is loaded the bike will be straight up and the sidecar wheel will lean in one degree since the sidecar wheel starts out vertical. changing the rear shock settings can change the required lean in settings. hd has in mind that lean out gets more as the load increases to keep the steering the same regardless of load. sort of works ok once its right. the other issue is the roads you ride on, roads with a very high crown need more lean out and roads that are dead flat need more in.
i ran a year with the stock tree, i then put in a liberty tree and would never go back - it just gets rid of the pull - however it has to be aligned properly first.

I felt the bike bottom out today and thought I might add air to the shocks. I weigh 260 and keep 80lbs of ballast when solo, but ride 50/50 solo and with a passenger. If I adjust the shocks your saying it will affect the lean? Or the toe?
Makes sense about the crown, now on a two lane it will pull to the right up over the crown from the left lane. I was on the super slab today which felt flater and it pulled noticabley less and I got confused. I am still learning the bike, but I know it is not 100% alligned for me.
with stock trees it will NEVER be set straight ahead on all roads - you can get it to be perfect on two lane local roads, or perfect on the slab - but not both.
what the tree does is reduce the trail and that makes the steering less sensitive to the crown of the road so that one hand with a light grip will be fine on both the two lane road and the slab
as for toe in - if the toe is too little it will pull right radically, if the toe is to much it just scrubs the rear tires off real fast.
there are car tires that last longer that will fit - but you should really be a expert rider before you do anything about tires
you should have the toe and lean dialed in exactly before changing the tree - but you simply will not believe the difference a tree makes - the cheapest current tree is to just go get the HD tree for a tri glide

I really like that blue color !!!!!!!
I picked this 02 up 2 weeks ago with 9000 miles on it. The hack was way too hard to get in & out of, so it's off & sold. I couldn't pass on the deal. It was pretty cheap.
I decided to buy a chair for my 12 H-D and sell the bike too. Should put a couple grand in my pocket.
They followed the H-D manual on this one too. It was set up perfect to make right hand turns !!!
its real common to buy a pair and split them and get more than for the pair - of course the buyers usually dont get all the mount kit - but now that they are not made folks need to pay attention.
the only time it would be a shame to split a pair would be if its a FG vin code - those are worth more together
