New Rig
After 6 years and 2 very good Ural rigs, Kathy and I decided to move up to a more road-capable setup. Our 04 Tourist went to a good home and we set out to acquire something suitable.
We decided on a Texas Ranger sidecar for its' simplicity and solid construction. We were aided by Bob Wark of the Warkshop in Marietta OH. I should note that of all the folks I talked to, or tried to talk to, Bob was the one who spent the time with me and helped make the decision.
We bought a used 2005 Yamaha V-Star 1100 Silverado for the tug. Simple design, shaft drive, triple discs and fat tyres. Good tug. Then we ordered the Ranger thru Bob.
It arrived ahead of schedule in the nicest crate I'd ever seen. After puzzling over the mounts I decided to have Bob do the setup. That was the best move I've made in a while. Bob got it done in under a week and it is a clean, well done installation. The rig handles very well. It's also nice having a bit of power, something I missed on the Ural. Now I miss reverse------
Our compliments to Texas Sidecars for a very well-made chair and to Bob Wark for a top-notch setup.

I only missed reverse for a short while. After one or two encounters where I parked going down hill I now ALWAYS find a spot that allows me to park facing uphill. Having power is great and as I speed along at 65mph on the thruway or accelerate going uphill I grin ear to ear. Enjoy your new rig.
Looks great!!! Thanks for sharing:o)
That's a very nice rig indeed!
Congratulations....
Bob

Yes, nice rig indeed. Enjoy your new ride.

I had that very model bike, and it was same color! It is fabulous and absolutely 100% dependable. I lost this bike and the hack on it in a fire Dec 08. You will love this bike.
