National Motorists Association
Says you can talk about anything,
A friend of mine told me about the National Motorists Association about 6 months ago. Their site is here:
http://www.motorists.org
Wish I had taken his advice and joined back when he told me.
It is an organization that fights for drivers rights. It has a large amount of information on how to keep from getting tickets. It also has a lot of resources on how to successfully fight a ticket when you get one. What you need to know before you go to court etc.
Their site also has a lot of good info that pertains to driving intelligently. Information everyone could use.
Last month while traveling, I got nailed in a speed trap. First ticket in 25 years. I am pretty sure it was bogus. I am pretty sure the officer knew it was bogus too, but he still wrote it.
It was certainly more about separating me from my money than highway safety. I wasn't endangering anyone, but when the officer pulled a U turn in traffic on the two lane he certainly did.
By the time I returned home, the ticket was about due. Since I didn't know how to fight it, it happened out of state, and I was really strapped for time I just paid it. I regretted paying it immediately. I might not have been able to beat it, but I'll never know because I didn't try.
Once things slowed down, I decided to be prepared to fight the next ticket should one come my way. I coughed up the $$ and joined the NMA to learn how.
The next time I get pulled over and ticketed I will fight it. Right, wrong or whatever. If I loose, so what, at least I am going to make the bums do an honest days work!
After joining I found out that the NMA will pay 1 ticket a year(up to $300). Providing you get the ticket while you are a member and fight it but loose in court. So they do reward you for trying. Sure beats just writing a check and waving bye to your money and waiting for your insurance to jump.
Check out their site, maybe it meets your needs. If it does pass the site on to your friends. Putting peoples lives at risk in the name of raising money should be stopped.
