This years Winter Tire got their first workout in 8-10" of Snow, Ice and Slush tonight on a trip to King Soopers.

We live on top of a steep hill in Colo Spgs and on the way down Flintridge, which has some steep curves, I passed quite a few Cages that had slid off the side with a few that had slammed the curb too hard to move on their own again with wheel damage etc.

Point is that my rig with it's fresh Winter Tires worked just fine compared to those cages on both the Slick stuff and in the deep Snow as well.
Over time I have found that Blizzak's work best for me on the back of our GL1800 and used to prefer Avon AM24 Gripster (Rear) on the Front but it has been discontinued in the 18" so I switched to the Avon Distanzia (Rear) this year. The WS50 Blizzak has been discontinued and I got one of the last ones in the Sears network this fall so next time around I'll have to choose a new version.

GL1800 w Champion Escort
Rear 195 55 R16 WS50 Blizzak (discontinued)
Front 120 80 18 (rear) AM44 Distanzia (current)
