Got in a accident on september 27, riding my girls yzf600, had a deer in the lane after I passed a guy and then had a car come at me on a curve, tried going around the outside of him and the front tire slide out ( if I would have been on my zx12 i think this would not have happened), I hit one of those reflective turn signs and broke both femors (again) and cracked my spine at t8 and shocked my spinal cord. Again helmet saved my life, I wish I would have a had a spine protector.

Got airlifted to fargo,ND spent until november 28 in the hospital, can't feel anything below my belly button.

I don't want a trike so I was wondering if anyone had seen a side car on a zx12 or point me towards the best way to go about this or if it can even be done.

I have looked around on diffrent websites and am trying to find a place close to Bemidji,MN (north central) that can put on a sidecar. Any input on this would be great, I was putting over 12K on my bike a year before this happened so I was wondering how much more you have to do for upkeep on a sidecar. Thanks for the help.

first off,...sorry to hear about the accident,..having hit a deer in '93 myself,..I know how quick it can happen,..second,..riding a sidecar rig takes a great deal more upper body strength to steer and handle well,..when my back is acting up,..I find it easier to cage it,...wild Bill from oakville?? runs a 1200 bandit with a hack and several others here run sport or dual-purpoose bikes with various car makers available,..Dauntless,Velorex, Doug Bingham or a few of the aged- older then treebark and rock veteran hackers will gladly help you out with local dealers and installers, I am certain an attractive car, with or without lean and brake features could be fitted to your ride and still look very cool,...good luck, crawf, marauder/cali1 rig.

Hannigan makes a really cool high performance sidecar based on the ZX-14. http://www.hannigantrikes.com/content/hpsidecars.htmlI mean "REALLY COOL" (at least in my opinion) http://www.hannigantrikes.com/content/hpsidecars.html

I install sidecars over here in Watertown SD.
I have never installed one on a ZX14 but woudl be happy to install any brand of subframe and sidecar that you like. Not a problem at all.

There are ways to build the SC so that you sit in a wheel chair and control the bike from the sidecar. Are you talking about that, or can you sit on the bike?

Installing a sidecar onto any modern sportbike with an aluminum perimeter type frame is a challenge but it can be done and it can make for a really awsome rig. It is , however, far from being a simple bolt on procedure and care must be taken when fabrication of the subframe etc is done.
Uncle E mentioned a sidecar rig that is operated from the sidecar. This has been done and does make for a pretty neat setup. We have never done one but woudl look forward to the opprotunity. In this case I feel the sidecar woudl better serve you if mounted on the left insead of th eright side.
Google 'Life Motors' to see some of the current ones out there.
We currently are finishing up a one off sidecar to carry a quadrapelegic in. It is really large by necessity in thi scase and mounted to a K1200LT.
