Liz,
I'm afraid my rig has degenerated into a "Rat Bike". The "Grit" the state uses isn't terribly corrosive, but the grime is so pervasive that I chose to paint my rig to match the color of the road dirt. The frame is black and the wheels and forks are aluminum. You'll notice that the only shiny part of the bike is the forks where the seals wipe the dirt off. I do wash the rig occasionally. If I was more fastidious, I'd be washing more than riding. By the way, the quote came from the quote section of this web site. My thanks to a wonderful site and the brotherhood of contributors.
