From Hal via email this morning:

"Many of the oldtimers of the United Sidecar Association, especially those in the Chicago IL area and in the Houston TX area know of the long hours she sat at her typewriter quitely helping Hal Kendall , Terry Strassenburg and Ed Johnson get the USCA off the ground.

Lee passed away quietly in her sleep after a drastic illness which began as the result of a toxic reaction to a drug for rheumatic arthritus, compounded by a fall in the emergency room bathroom at the hospital which then resulted in a compound fracture to the pelvis, finally her immune system went upside down resulting in acute lymphatic leukemia compounded by a bout of pneumonia. She had not seen the outside of the hospital from September 20 to October 11 - however her dog, Casey, and her cat, Teddy, did visit her while she was able to recignise them. Last rites were said over her earlier today, and she some close friends were at her bedside in her last hours. She is now resting in peace after a long and rewarding lifetime in several countries including PA, TX, IL, CA, and in Australia, Holland, England, Spain, Libya, and Trinidad. She has no regrets.

She will be cremated in Houston, TX and services will be held shortly in Pittsburgh, PA where her family resides. Those wishing to grieve with her are asked to donate to their local SPCA or other charity for dogs and cats as this was her vocation in later years.

With humble prayers to you and yours

Hal Kendall"
