Now if you want to talk about bikes I have built that where show winners and all mine I rode daily. Took 2nd and 3rds at Daytona against 50 or more other bikes. And I rode it to Daytona and back home.

I simply can't understand how a fellow such as yourself, who obviously and who apparently has won awards on Harley and who has the capability to work on bikes would work on bikes that he doesn't like.

There are a lot of people, myself among them as well as others on this list, who like and approve of what the Harley company has done, especially in the past 25 years.

I hear that you don't like Harley-Davidsons. You say that they are poorly built and the dealers are no good. I get that. That being the case, there's not much more to say.

Regards.

I did not say I do not like them. I ride a twin cam but mine is the last year before Harley did many not so good changes not for the better just because it was cheaper. You are correct I will never buy a new one again which I have only bought 3 new Harley s built and rode quite a few. I have been riding them for 42 years NONE STOP.

Like I said do not beleive me as others that work on them daily and the big crank builders and get back to me. All so ask them about the balancing of the cranks. Do some good research and get back to me. Not all of them are that bad but none of them are as good as they should be for the money. Yes there are many that do not have a problem but there is at least a 4th that do and that is a poor percentage. Helps me out a lot. LOL

Like I said I am talking from experience not just from what someone told me. Call all the big time crank builders and see what they say.

Here I will do some of the research for you. S&S will not warranty their cranks unless you run the timken dual cone bearings.
You never did say how many motors you have built in the past 20 years and I am talking about completely.

Mine was the last year HD had forged crank and Timken bearings which was basically the same from 1955 to 2002.

This is who I use on pressed cranks till I have everything built and ready to do them my self.

46U:

You are obviously full of yourself. You are just another Harley-Hater. The Internet is full of them. Instead of bragging about myself as you do, I just ride my motorcycle most every day instead of working on it. I only posted since people were talking about the Indian motor built by Polaris. The title of the thread is not how wonderful "46U" is. I will leave you with this. All of the items that you talk about are meaningless to me. I simply do not care. I won't be responding to you again.

What ever!

Yes I think Indian is going to do well with the backing they have just waiting to see what they put around the new motor. Hopefully it will not be like what they make now. Like I said been talking to them on Facebook and are really good about replying to questions.

The Indians they sell not are way over priced but if what the are telling me on Facebook then price is coming down on the ones with the new motor. My only concern is the price but time will tell.

I love the flathead look of the new engine. I think polaris can pull it off.

I love flat heads that is why I have owned 4 of them 3 motorcycles and one truck. If you count my Cushman I have had 5.

i always like the flatheads .my first bike was a 1942 Harley WLA . a couple of my friends were running Indians at that time . what got me hooked on sidecars was when we went to one the Indian Come Home days in the early 70s and i got to look at a few chiefs with sidecars up close .

as long as they have the flathead look and the skirted fenders to keep the classic look they will catch a few peoples eye for sure

I all so had a 42 WLA engine as the goverment during WWII bought many all marked 42 but I build mine like a WL which was built out of pieces just like my 46u.

FWIW, I picked up a Gilroy Indian and IMHO, it feels like a motorcycle built from and with aftermarket parts. It just doesn't have the solid feeling of a Harley. Another FWIW (for what its worth), I didn't go to Harley school until 84'. We uncrated the new Evo motors and alternator Ironheads. What an exciting time. Times were changing and we were at the head of it....Anyways, I've retired, mostly, from engine rebuilding, but am looking for a good rebuilder....46u? The new Indian motor looks to be a good one. I'd like to try it out for awhile.. And I heard that the new Buells motors are being built in Austria and are really something, something like 150 horse? Thats quick enough for me...
