Wow - it's nice to be in the middle of the pack again. I'm 59, started riding motorcycles when I was 15 and just started with a sidecar - due to injuries to my left leg. Although I have operated a rig or two in the past and liked them I just never got one of my own. When it became apparent that I was not going to be comfortable on two wheels anymore I immediately thought SIDECAR, don't know why I waited this long.

Greetings gang~ I'm 51 as of TODAY!! Started riding when I was 12 on a mini-bike, got "official" with a 125 Yamaha when I was 14 and nuts at 16 on a 250 Suzuki! Got struck by the 3rd wheel by being around Claude. Life's good as they say...

I'll turn 70 the end of October, feel a lot older right now, but know that I'll start feeling a lot better, once I get the Goldwing and sidecar running.

We are 76 and 80. Both still riding, although 1000 mi. trips are gettingt fewer and fewer. Enjoy comforts of motorhome over tent and airmattress at rallies. Plans are to keep riding until we get too old to enjoy it. J.R. and Avanell

How do you get young peeps interested in sidecars? Give em a few injuries and they might go for it! I am 56 now, started riding SEVEN years later than I wanted to.. broke a same collarbone for the 2nd time really badly and after 2 operations, FINALLY felt strong enough to swing a bike up! Got my M a couple years ago... we have a graduated system for bike licensing here and have not looked back! Done 4 long distance trips and hope to do my dream trip this summer, gas price-permitting.....if it stays too high, I may use this year to add a sidecar for my lil Georgia to ride in.. I also broke my back 5 years ago and realize that all these injuries could bring my riding days to a halt...so, the natural thing to consider is to trike it or add a sidecar.. the 2nd thing being the 1 of choice! Good to see us NOT giving up and continuing our life the best we know how eh? NOT much stops me I can tell ya! HAHA!!

Except for the balance factor it's a hellova lot easier to pilot a solo bike than a sidecar rig. The youngbloods who think they are just for Geezers haven't had many twisty miles behind them driving a sidehack outfit.
No more light fingertip push on the left bar to initiate the left hand turns and vice versa for the right ones. More steering work when starting off and stopping. Shoulder muscles come into play now.
Running a road like the PCH and other twisties uses up a lot of calories. Even more with a full sized monkey aboard.
