Thanks, and back at'cha. Having technical difficulties and hope you can help; 1)My Dollar General Store lights only worked for an hour. Do you think it was the rain or are the batteries used up already? 2) My tinsel is blowing off the string in some places. What's your experience with this kind of thing? 3)My wreath smells like burning pine boughs, but I'm sure it's plastic. Could that smell be me?

Unc,
The problem is that you probably buying from a local store and aren't getting Quality WAL-MART merchandise for your hard earned buck.

1- Are you sure the batteries were included with the lights? You may have driven past the end of your extension cord. That sometimes will cause the lights to function less brightly than desired.

2- Lead tinsel will hold up better in the wind than the cheaper alumimum or plastic stuff.

3- Get a jar of Mentholatum, apply some to each nostril and VOILA! Your wreath will now smell like Eucalyptus. Problem solved.

4- Always glad to be of service. Hope this helps.

Have a good 'un, and many more.

Lonnie

Thanks guys, at least I have a better idea of what to look for. I just don't seem able to do a "set-up" and forget it like some of you.
I did find out, however, that I shouldn't be trying to save money by using a car air freshener instead of real Odor Eaters.
Lonnie- You've inspired me. I'm taking a welding class so I can fab my own tinsel this summer. The next decision- silver paint or chrome plating. I'll have to see some samples I guess. I think the added weight of well made tinsel will also help me to slow down- especially on the hills.

Ernie,

Just a thought.......if the welds look like crap go with the paint and if you end up with a row of "dimes" chrome it!
