Hi everyone, I am new to goldwings and hacks been a harly guy for years (would ride with anybody though) but bought an 1986 goldwing interstate with a hack and trying to identify it. Tired of pullin my brains out (no hair lol) so please help. It has two indentations about 2 ft long like long teardrops but I cant find anything about it. Thanks for any help

I think that Drone was right TWICE, err... "sort of". Watsonian didn't build the International, they called that style a "Flight" I'm thinking that what you have is an International built in Minneapolis, MN. The International was "inspired" [read a close copy of and maybe splashed from] the Watsonian "Flight". The Flight was acquired by Watsonian when they bought the Swallow Sidecar Company. Swallow made sidecars and did coachwork for a number of different autos. There were Austins, Fiats and eventually Jags [the Jag SS was Swallow by Standard] with Swallow bodies. Swallow made a range of sidecars. They offered large saloon models and some stream-liners that look sort of like aircraft drop tanks.

The big difference between the Watsonian Flight and the International was the fin! The Watsonian Flight sported a large vertical fin on the rear deck. I really can't speak to fenders because those changed over the years and a lot of them were replaced or customized. Same goes for the "nostrils" on the front. All the Internationals that I've seen [which isn't all that many] have them but some Watsonians or Watsonian copies didn't. I'm betting that the ones that didn't have them were splashed off real Watsonians but I can't back that up.

Either way, it's a nice sidecar. Enjoy!
