Hello to all. Been lurking for a while. Thought it was finally time to sign up. Looks like a real good forum. Tomorrow my 1100 Shadow Spirit goes to Doug Bingham to have a Velonex 565 attached. Seems to be alot of good folk here. Wife and myself are really looking foreward to sidecaring(?).

Hello, you don't say where you're at but if you can make it to the national rally at Coeur d'Alene Idaho in July we'd sure like to meet you and the Mrs...

Thanks for the invite Tom. Vacation already planned for June, sad, no motorcycles involved. Beautiful day here in So Cal, 81 with a nice breeze and some haze. Took the bike to Doug this AM. Nice ride along the foothills(60mi), too bad was all super slab. Scheduled to pick up next Sat. Got to drive one of Doug's rigs. Couldn't believe how nice it handled. This is gonna be a long week. Just have to ride the little Nighthawk and be content. I think my wife is more excited than I am, is this normal?

Good for her. I don't know what normal is but it wouldn't be normal around my house. My wife (now of 42 years) used to ride behind me when I rode on two wheels but after many years and many, many miles, she decided to give it up. That's what lead to the sidecar. I thought she might like a different seating situation. I also thought the dog I had at that time might like it. I didn't expect to enjoy three wheels at all. At that time I thought the only people who would ride on three wheels would do so because they couldn't handle two for what ever reason. I bought a used Ural. Well, Barb's mind was pretty well made up. But Archie took to it and I found out how much fun riding a rig really is. For two years I rode the Ural much more than the Harley. Partly so Archie could go and partly because it was such a kick in the butt to ride. Then I realized there was no going back. Sold the Ural, my Kwik Kamp trailer and an old parts tractor and ordered the Liberty. Haven't been sorry in the least. Archie died in 2010. Henry was learning to ride when he died this past March. That's when we rescued Petey from the same shelter that his predecessors came from. He's taking to it as naturally as Archie did. Arch was three when he started riding and eleven when a tumor on his spleen ruptured. Pete is a little over one. Hopefully he'll be with me for many years to come. In fact, we just got home from riding into a bike/car show at the Humane Society today. A good ride and a fun day.
