If you haven't already heard this "wonderful" piece of news as of 2012 all Harleys will be water cooled! Should make all the v-rod owners happy as HD also plans to phase out the v-rod as "it would be considered redundant" according to a HD spokesperson. Hd also said "they want to show a cleaner more green image." Personally I'm so sick of the overused green dogma that I could puke large amounts of "green". You gotta wonder what the next "green" thing will be? Maybe EPA $$ permits to ride your older non- green-silent and/or govt. safety .approved bike???also on a parting note senator Chuck Schumer believes all antique car owners "are rich" and wants to federally impose a 10% yearly tax based on the car's value. lovely right? So far all the green movement has done for me is remove a lot more green from my wallet!

I'm glad to hear this. It should increase the value of my 2004 air-cooled Big Twin. It's a semi-confirmed rumor with no details at this point, however.

Good luck to Harley-Davidson moving a new model into the this market with a higher price due to additional equipment and attendant complexity.

Love HD as I do, I am perplexed with their marketing "guesses" in the past ten years.:

1. Buell............nice, but didn't sell very well and used ones have low resale.
2. V-Rod..........nice, but didn't sell very well and used ones have low resale.
3. Trikes..........nice, but very expensive and, regardless of what anyone says, they are not going to be a high-volume unit. Resale remains to be seen, but it won't be anywhere near the $35K it takes to buy a new trike.

All just my opinion, however, YMMV.

Looks like it was a sick and twisted April fools joke. Not funny,we've got enough government intrusion in our lives as it is.

I sold a guy that is a engineer at HD about a year ago some old HD VL parts and from what little I could worm out of him there will not be a motor change till 2016 on the big bikes. But you never know till it happens.
