Harley Sidecar

"I have a friend at Harley. I asked him that very question because my wife never liked the rocking motion. His answer was "That's the only safe way to do it."
This was regarding the lack of suspension in the Harley sidecars.
Then Mike said:
Perhaps, but my buddy is hinting that the days of air-cooled and belt drive are both severely limited.
Tell me Mike, is this the same knowledgable buddy from the Harley shop?
If so his batting average seems to be zero so far. LOL
Just stirrin' the pot,

Nope, Pat works for the Mother Company and has since I was in High School. He says that it's getting harder and harder to meet various pollution laws that either exist now or will be put in place by the 2008 model year. He believes that the first step will be a move to liquid cooling and fuel injection across the board. He also hints that there's a driveshaft driven model on the drawing board.
You mean maybe "Evolution" didn't end in 1999 after all?
Perhaps Einstein was right. Maybe there is a hole at the other end of the tunnel.
Speculation being what it is though, I certainly don't see an early demise for the air cooled V-Twins, just like the airhead Beemers, I expect them to be around for quite awhile.
The V-Rod hasn't made that much progress yet marketwise in it's 6th year..

Perhaps. I guess we'll just have to sit back and wait and see what happens. I do know that I would be one of the first in line for a shaft driven V-Rod if it ever happened. I know a couple guys who have both V-Rods and V Twins and they both say the twins pretty much collect dust in the garage since they bought the V-Rods. I rode both an Anniversary model and a 2005 with the hard saddlebags and I was really impressed with each. The 2003 had those solid disk wheels, it was a bit odd in a crosswind, but the other one, a 2005 had a mag style rim and I didn't get the side pull. Haven't quite figured out what sidecar looks good on one though. :0)
