First I think Highway king is a gimmick.

HD decided to release a new retro model. Cross between an EG and a Road king.  I would not have give it a second look except that they are planning to offer it with a sidecar option.

Then we find out it is not an HD sidecar but a Champion.   At least they are trying to do it right.

There is no way I would purchase on to replace what we have.  I am curious about a few things.

How did HD deal with the BAS with  the newer system. Something they said could not be done.

2020 and up do not use the simple ball senor we had known for years.

Will it have ECC option or standard?

How will they train dealers to install them as they ship separate? Most dealers do not even know what a sidecar is.

Dealers have for some time now been saying you can't put a sidecar on these bikes.

From what I have heard, and have been to the Champion Sidecars facility in So. Cal.....H-D is going to ship these bikes, one or two at a time, to Champion, and Champion will build the sidecar to match the bike, do the full installation of the sidecar to the bike, then H-D will pick up the completed rig and deliver it to whichever dealerships around the country that have placed an order for one of these.

"IF" the guy that installed the Champion Daytona 2+2 onto my '06 Wing back in 2019 is still working there....then the job will be done right.                                  I was quite impressed by his work abilities. And that sidecar rig came out perfectly aligned, and still is to this day.

Wow, I wonder what the price tag on that rig will be? I hope they come out nice for the sake of the hobby.
