I'm doing my research before I order my Hannigan SC. I have an '06 GL1800, and I'm planning on having their GTL installed. I read here and on the SCT board about the problem with shipping windshields. I asked them about it and they said that the big wrap-around ones are very expensive to crate and ship. I'm OK with that, but please give me any info or experience you might have. Good or bad. Are they a good company to do business with? Do they have a good product? Do they stand behind their product?

Mike

Mike,
I am sure you will hear good things from others about Hannigan. They are an excellent company and take much pride in their products and do an excellent job in working with their customers. You won't go wrong with them. They are also very enthusiatic sidecarists at heart and have introduced some very cutting edge innovations into the USA Sidecar world.

I have a GTL on our 2007 Wing. Got it last April. There was a minor manufacturing defect in the windshield, only visible from a certain angle, which we noticed after we had taken delivery.David Keesse (the installer) suggested I remove the windshield frame and send it to them, so he could personally fit a new shield to it, drill holes, etc). I did, and they did. Absoluely no hassle. We have put about 15k on that rig, drove it to Alaska last August. Wonderful sidecar, great company to do business with. I read the thread re: the gentlemen with the issue your describe. At the time, several folks suggested he call David Hannigan personally rather than give up after talking to a saleman. Not suggesting he should have had to, just that he should have. He didn't seem to want to do that, not sure why. His exxperience was totally different than mine was, and has been since. Be ahppy to talk live with you, if you would like.greg

I second both of the above posts; no complaints with product, labor, service, or attitudes. Highly recommended.

I've owned two Hannigans. The first was a Super Sport model that was married to a 1996 Honda Pacific Coast that I had up until last year when I sold it to my son and daughter-in-law. I currently have a GTL mounted on a 2007 GL1800. Both my wife and I couldn't be happier. The Hannigans are great folks to do business with and produce a great product. Dave Kessee, their sidecar installer, is first rate.

We had Hannigan install one of their Classic model sidecars on my
wife's V-Star 1100 Classic. We couldn't be happier with the whole
experience with Hannigan, both at the time of purchase, and after.
Dave Keesee did a first rate installation job and the rig is a joy to
ride.

I've had a GTL since 05' with over 30K on it. Only minor issues, which they have addressed. I lost a "riveted tab" that keeps the canopy level and they mailed me 3 of them.....just in case. And they re-sewed the vinyl roof cover which was a bit larger than needed and "buzzed" in the wind. I would order the recomend the headset, roof cover, and cup holder (if you can't install one on your own, it's a simple one you can get at about any auto parts store). Wife has dumped 2 cups of coffee since we didn't get one installed, but I put one in later.........I should talk to Dave about fixing her! LOL

I would say they are as good as I've ever dealt with in just about any business! Good luck!
