Flat Fold Down Windshield?

The big question for me is- do those Brooklnds really do anything for the passenger (or are they mostly to look cool0 which they do)?

Has anyone done any tests to see how much a windshield effects MPG?

I cut down my Velorex windshield significantly as I don't ordinarily carry passengers. As best I can calculate, I picked up 3-4 mpg in doing so. I also keep the tonneau cover on all the time. I hadn't decided to cut that much down but the 3rd world acrylic kept shattering and I wound up shorter than anticipated.
