Found the owner! A lady I used to work with....called her today and told her the dog has been at my house for two weeks and that I'd been looking for his owner. I told her Shirley was gettin' attached to him and that they could come over this evening to fetch him. She said she'd tell her husband and get back to me. Thirty minutes later she called and said we could have him, that he wouldn't stay home, and if he stayed at our place that long, he must like it where he is. She just wanted the shock collar back. Said he was eight years old and named, "Dawg". He's "Buckeye" now. I'm still allergic to him, but he's family now and I have to put up with it. He loves me and likes to get up in my face while I'm working on anything. I will post a picture with my last posting. Pass the Claritin.....

Welcome Home Dawg Buckeye!

By the way, our dog Maddie behaves similarly when storms are brewing.

And she will sneak off with gloves or rags while working on the bikes.

Hmm. Nice you found the owner. Kinda clear why Dawg didn't wanna go home, I guess. Shrug. I didn't let my kids keep the ones that showed up at our house. I had a rule, "Put it back!" The one daughter kept coming home with everything. Baby birds, skunks, dogs, cats, snakes, chickens, she even wanted to keep the horse we found in our yard one day. Just be glad it wasn't a horse Shirley got attached to. 😉

Well, I said I'd post a photo of our visiting/new family member dog, Buckeye, but night before last a neighbor a couple of houses down was shooting up something in his yard or something. He kept shooting off and on and we never thought much of it since we're in rural Mississippi and southerners like to cut up every once and a while. But ol' Buckeye freaked out and split to parts unknown. I called his former owner but they haven't seen him either. I guess he is just a ramblin' kind of guy and meant to go wherever he fancies or freaks to go. We enjoyed his company and maybe he will pass through here again. But for the mean time, no more itchy eyes or wheezy feeling in my chest.......
