Equalean????
I bought this sidecar a couple of years ago. the guy told me it was and Equalean. If it is it must be an early version. I can not find a similar rig anywhere on the net. Any ideas what it might be?
No picture, can't tell. If it's Equalean it's a death machine.
Okay there is now a picture. With the wheel in the center under the body, it sure looks like an equalean.
I hope you didn't pay much for it. They are dangerous. That is why they are no longer marketed.
The original rear rail and roller rear attachment was subject to failure. I have seen upgraded mounting systems that were well engineered.
One XJ Yamaha/ Equalean conversion was at the Griffith Park S/C Rally. From a shop in Huntington Beach.

Equalean, one of a couple of body types they had. Equalean went through a few different mounting systems, none really worked well. The last one we owned we left behind the shop until some one did us the favor of steeling it. In general leaning sidecars unless done proper and few are done proper are more a case of the worst of both worlds not the best.

Thanks all. Have it up for sale. Not sure I can sell it now in good consience.
Sometimes these early bodies have been repurposed to be used on ridgid frames. The "space ship" looks and small size make it a good body to be used on a scooter. Good Luck!
Avanell had one on a Honda 750 automatic. Framed up solid. Good looking car. Should be worth a few dollars.

it is a Equalean sidecar that model is a smaller one called a sidekick the early upper rear mount used to be a straight channel bar with a type of roller inside the later versions had a curved bar if one knows what they are doing and knows how to ride one they are not necessarily dangerous maybe too many sue happy lawyers out there is a reason they are no longer in business I saw Wally the guy that designed the Equalean sidecar, ride the thing like nobody's business
I've had three different Equalean. That's the small scooter model. Where are you? I'm in Ohio.
