Cats Vs. Dogs?
It's apparent from the Avatars, Blogs, and just general postings, including mine, that dogs seem to be prefered as riding companions over Cats. Now I know Cats can be a bit high strung and tempermental, with a mind of their own, but are their any sidecarests out their that take their Cat along as riding companions?
I'm at that stage where I may have to choose, whether to find a new home for my Cat or not. Cats pose a whole different set of rules and behaviors to deal with and I am not so sure that they would make for very good travel companions, riding in a sidecar. I can only imagine that they would have to ride either in a travel cage or the sidecar would have to be inclosed somehow, so as to keep them from jumping out, since most Cats I know of, don't know or understand what the word "STAY" means. LoL
Any thoughts on this subject?
Oh yea! My Avatar is a photo of my Cat, Tom T. (T for Terrific).
Having some experience with felines ,my suggestion is cage the cat and keep in touch with HOMELAND SECURITY as they are terroristic by nature, otherwise enjoy the ride.
best thing to do is freeze dry the cat and make wind chimes out of it..just kidding , of course! :o)
I had a cat that road in my hack, I just out a harnes on him and tyed it down. He did fine and liked to ride. Cats are much smarter than dogs

Cats may well be smarter than Dogs, but the don't listen and learn like dogs. If Cats don't want to do something, nothing you can do will change their mind, short of cruel and inhumane measures, which I will not resort to. On the other hand, Dogs will do just about anything for a treat or positive reinforcement. Of course their are those Cats that act like Dogs and can be trained. Mine doesn't seem to be one of those.
I dislike having to cage my Cat just about as much as my Cat, maybe by placing a screened cover on my sidecar may give him the room to roam about along with the dog as well.
Are their doggles for Cats, I wonder, that is if the Cat would ware them?
Back in the late 70s I met this big tall dude at the Rock Store, a famous motorcycle gathering spot in the Santa Monica Mountains near Los Angles. He was so tall he had to duck his head as he walked through the doorway. As he straightened up I noticed a cat scrambling around to stay perched on his shoulder. It took me a minute to process this but I finally asked “does that cat ride with you on a bike”? He replied; “Yep, all the way from Minnesota”.
The cat rode in a tank bag with the top removed. No cover, no cage, no harness. The guy told me he trained his cat by taking him with him on his bike everywhere since the cat was a tiny 6 week old kitten. Said he started out carrying the kitten in his shirt pocket under his coat.
I watched the guy get on his bike and when he fired it up the cat jumped from his shoulder into the tank bag and off they rode. Now that was bizarre!
