Canadian Ride Request
Anyone near this fellow willing to spend a day?
Hello,
I know this is a bit of a strange request, and probably a 'long-shot', but it's worth a try.
I am a nurse and work at a nursing home, where we have a fairly young gentleman living that has had a stroke.
He retired one year previous to his stroke, and was planning a bike trip with his wife when he had the unfortunate event occur.
Needless to say, he never had his bike trip. It is a very unfortunate situation, because he is so young, and he is very depressed and isolated. I know it sounds sappy, but it really is sad for him & his family, as well as for the staff who care for him. We want to do something nice for him, but don't know where to begin. Do you, or do you know of anyone who does bike trips/takes riders, and/or has a sidecar that could take this man for a ride?
If this is not possible, do you know of how we could have a mini bike-show for this man in a local parking lot (or something...)
Any info or contacts you could provide would be greatly appreciated! We'd really like to do something for this gentleman-and I know it would really mean a lot to him.
Our nursing home is in Ontario, in the Durham Region (about 50K east of Toronto).
Thanks for reading,
Agnes.

I got the following from Agnes on Saturday.
Hi Joyce
Thanks so much for posting this request-I've gotten several replies already!
I haven't heard from anyone with a sidecar, but all the other options people are coming up with are fabulous all the same.
I'm sure we'll be able to get something done for this fella, so thanks again for posting!
