On a 2001 Harley FLHT, where does the upper rear mount bolt onto.
It wouldn't bolt to the motor would it? Just the frame, right?

The 2005 has a different mount setup. There were frame changes in 2002.

I went to a Harley dealer and asked around and I got the answer to where it goes.
Looks like the side cover needs surgery.

A right hand curve kept trying to flip me over onto my left side and I ran off the road on the left and hit a tree with the sidecar.

That's a classic mistake. Glad you are OK but sorry you weren't able to glean and absorb adequate information from all the postings and information that is available here on this site regarding sidecar handling, suggested ballast, etc.
Hope the rig is fixable.

Lonnie
