The other day on a different site, there was a camp stove thread about a very nice but expensive lightweight stove.
I personally favor a piece of string as it is more compact and extremely light weight.
I cook in a billy can. What ever stove you use you still must have something to cook in.
When on the road, the billy can contains any other stull I can put in it so it really does not add to the space needed to pack. You can stuff it with socks, skivies, t-shirt, and put anything delicate in it like cell phone or camera or anything that is small and needs to be packed padded.
A couple of yards of nylon cord is your cooking device. Just tie three straight sticks together to form a tripod at least three feet high. Sharpen the big end of the sticks to poke them into the earth to keep them from slipping position. The same string that ties them together hangs down so that it can be passed through the handle of the billy can and adjusted to height above a small fire made from sticks. You are only limited as to what you can cook by your imagination.
