Advice needed
I second the first aid kit idea. I always seem to find it useful helping the others who place their well being in Gods hands.
The other thing I'd recommend is wiring in a cigarette lighter socket for a cell phone charger and a 12 volt air pump.
The sidecar gives me the luxury of a 10 lb. tool box. Spare light bulbs, spark plugs, inner tubes and fuses, and for the back country a come along and a shovel.
I also replaced the wire wheel with a matching cast aluminum wheel. I'm running a dual sport Kenda tubeless tire.

Since I got washed away by the river in Ostional (see: travel happy as a cow - report) a 30 m rope is part of the waterproof spare/tool bag. Still I look for the fitting pulley blocks.
Regards Sven

Sailboat or windsurfer hardware is your best bet.
