I am French and I have made sidecar for 10 years.
I have a CHODA ZX 12R with which I make competition, the championship of France of rallys.

Hello Bruno - that's quite an outfit you have. I've watched a couple of Pikes Peak Hillclimbs on TV. You've got more nerve than I have racing that to the top 🙂 I used to live in Colorado Springs and have driven the road to the top. Once you get past the treeline it's pretty scary looking!

Rental cars are available at the airport. There are many hotels/motels to stay at but it might be smart to book early because the race crews and spectators can fill them up. The Adams Mark and Broadmoor are well known, expensive hotels in Colorado Springs. If you wish to stay nearer to the race site, look for places in Woodland Park or Manitou Springs.

When you visit, make sure to save time to see Garden of the Gods park. Cave of the Winds is a popular tourist attraction. A visit to the US Air Force Academy is nice if that's your cup of tea. There is gambling at Cripple Creek - not too far away.

How will you transport your bike to the area? What is the race record for a sidecar? Do you think you will set a new record?

It sounds like a pretty exciting trip!

thank you for all the information.
we will remain 15 days to make tourism.
we never came to the USA.
the sidecar will be transported by plane in a case, then on the spot, with a trailer which we will rent with the car.
the record in the sidecar is of 13 ' 17 " 16 and we come to beat it because our sidecar is really adapted to this kind of races.
it is a project which we have had for 3 years.

Great endeavor you have! Also look at both of these sites (in addition to this one): hpsidecars.com and....... members.aol.com/ (the 2nd one is ++ high performance sc). I would think those sites would really like to hear of your efforts too!

Bruno - Its great that you are following your dreams. I hope you set a record and have plenty of stories to tell. Most of all I hope that you have a good time in the U.S.

Best wishes

Great video, good sport and great fun.
I can just dream of a bike like that and push it through our mountains.
Well now for 19 years there are 2+3 tracks here in Costa Rica each time I pass through there in my mind I make just what you see on the second video.....
One side steep mountain other side deep fall through the rainforrest strong serpentines for up to 130km....
above See level 40-800-600m / 700-1800-80m / 500-1900-40m / 850-3280-120m / 20m-150m... no change to enjoy that much with my Jawa/Velorex where I have to watch termometer and brakes continously.
Who ever comes down here should call me up for these special tips...

Best wishes for your journey.
