600 mile shake down run
Finally getting my rig near completion. Pulled the 750CC top end and replaced with a fresh 900CC top end. Instant (needed) additional 10 HP. Torque increase is also substancial.Re jetted the stock carbs for the 900cc engine. Replaced the stock final drive with a lower geared 32:9 drive. Added a 4 quart oil sump for additional cooling capacity. Henry's floorboards, 9 (or 10?)Gallon Heinrich tank with fresh paint. missing only the Heinrich tank tool box cover which is on the way. Loaded up my better half, a lot of camping gear, a lot of un-needed stuff and did a 600 mile weekend cruise to a little Spring Solstice party near the Beartooth Mountains in Montana. Head winds were a bugger as usual but the rig never missed a beat. The 900cc motor likes a lot of fuel when fighting wind so the big fuel tank was definately a good addition.Planning a Yellowstone Park run on the 4th of july. Side cars are the only way to go!
The rig is looking good. I thought you were to always have the UN-Need stuff. Lol.
