How To Advertise Your Rig For Sale In Our Forums

Here is how you can advertise your rig for sale in our forums. 

First, you must be a registered forum user to be able to post anything. You don’t have to be a member of the USCA, but you do have to register in the forums. To log in or create an account go to https://sidecar.com/forums-login-register/ . 

To create an account there click on the button “Select” for the level named “Forum User (Free!)”. 

Fill out the information on the next page. Note that “Member Number” is optional: if you are new you won’t have one. Also note that “Describe Your Rig” is important as well. When automated bots fill out this form they usually post an automated message there (about creating university papers or Russian wives or Canadian pharmacies, etc.). It is useful for the moderators to see a description of your rig, or the reason you are interested, in there to approve your account. (The automated bots don’t know what a ‘rig’ is.) At the bottom click on “Submit and Confirm”. 

Log into your account and choose the appropriate forum you want to advertise your rig in. There are separate forums for complete rigs, tubs only, parts, looking for…, etc. Scroll down the page of forums about halfway down to find the “Classified Ads” section. Below that is a list of all the sale/wanted related forums.

• Miscellaneous Sidecar Related for Sale
• Complete Rigs Wanted
• Sidecar Tubs Wanted
• Miscellaneous Sidecar Related Wanted

Once you log in you are usually redirected to the “Recent posts” page. But you want to go to the main page that lists all of the forums, so just click on the little ‘home’ icon at the top left. Or you can type in the URL sidecar.com/forum or click on that link. 

Click on the forum you would like to use. For example, the “Complete Rigs For Sale” (click on that link if you want). 

Then click on the blue button in the upper right “Add Topic”. 

A new page will open where you can create your post. 

Enter a title for your post. It should include the year, make, and model of the motorcycle, and the make of the sidecar, the location (city, state, and country as appropriate), and the price. 

In the box below that enter as complete a description as you can. The more detailed and personalized the better. This is where you will ‘sell’ people on your rig. If you are not sure of what to say post whatever you want and then ask for advice from others in the forums. You can always edit it later to make it better. 

Then add your pictures by clicking on “Attach Files”. A window will pop up where you can navigate to the folder where you pictures are. Click on as many pics as you want and then click “Open” (in Windows, it might be different on Apple/Mac/iPad machines). 

Finally, click the blue “Add Topic” button at the bottom and your post will be added to the forum for all to see. 

Please remember when your rig sells to let us know so we can indicate “sold” or remove the post. 

Additional Notes

• If you are new and register for the first time your account will be limited. You will not be able to add pictures or links to your posts until you make 2 moderated posts. That means your first 2 posts will be held in ‘queue’ until a moderator sees and approves your posts. This is to protect us all from spammers posting unwanted links or pics (usually automated bots). 
• To do this most people go to the forum “Welcome to the United Sidecar Association Forums” (you can click on that link). Post a brief introduction of yourself and when someone welcomes you post a reply and you will be good to go for your first post with links and pics.
