@jimbosidecar

having, still, a few bikes with carbs I can vouch that here in AZ, gas is one of worst I ever used. Any carbs bike left by itself for more than two weeks will start to gum. I used my Vmax today and, even with cleaning additives in the gas, it took a good part of 100 miles at freeway speed to be able to have a steady idle.

Yikes! I also live in Arizona (Northwest) and glad I haven't had any trouble in that respect.

lucky you! In Maricopa county we have CBG gas and it is a killer for pilot jets and carbs in general. Mechanic In a Bottle to the rescue in between taking the old mixers apart!

That Valkyrie rig is indeed well sorted.  Frank was kind enough to let me pilot it a couple of years back while I was trying to figure out how a rig should behave, compared to what I got with my AT.  It is, in my opinion, close to the gold standard for drive performance.

I used to own a 2000 Valkyrie Tourer; still a relevant bike, 24 years later.

Frank is absolutely meticulous in his maintenance practices, as well!

I have know this bike since it's first owner Dan Doyle, a very well know sidecar person out here in California.  The electric seat was for is wife Marlene.  I met Frank at the Colorado Rally and really enjoyed my time talking with him.  He did a lot to improve the rig under his ownership. I have a Valkyrie with a Daytona 2+2 and can say the 6 carbs have NEVER been a problem and yes I run crap gas, the cheapest I can find and 60,000 miles plus still no problems and I pull a Leesure Lite for all camping trips.  I would not hesitate getting this bike and traveling the country with it, but I have two other sidecars already.

Frank I wish you well and a quicker than you except recovery.

bill.
