I have a service manual for 1999-2005 Harley sidecars. There are a few different mounting kits and things are a little different year to year with the bank angle sensor and a few other things. I have a 2000 FLH, looking for a sidecar to fit mine. I think any TLE model sidecar will fit which goes back to about 1984 but you would have to figure out which mounting brackets are required for your bike's model year. There is a later model sidecar service manual on ebay for $50.00, that would probably answer your questions.

You could use any year TLE or TLE Ultra sidecar from 1983 to 2010 which I understand was the last year that the sidecars were to be built since they said that no orders were to be taken in 2011.

As to the correct hardware, I'm not sure about 2010 FL's because there have been several frame changes since the 1990's. Most of the changes had to do with the rear mount, in particular from three bolts to two boles in the early 2000's. There was another change in 2008 and later which I understand necessitated changes to the lower front mount and it's possible that the upper front mount might also have been changed since they added a motor mount on the front cylinder head. I honestly don't know what those changes might be since there were few sidecars on the later bikes that I might have seen.

I would say, however, that any sidecar prior to 2008 will require new mounts for your 2010. The mounts and all other parts needed for your bike will come in the Harley-Davidson Connection kit. for the year of the bike, although some changes may be required for very early sidecars (1983 and later).

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply's, I have a black 2010 FLHTP Electra/Police 103, and have found a black with pinstripes 2000 HD sidecar within 250 miles of home for $3500 (Anchorage Craigslist).....As tempting as it is, I am gonna wait, and keep looking for a newer version. Between prep, paint, and mounts, I really wouldn't be saving much, if anything. Would like to find an actual ex-Police version with ABS.......The search goes on.......Thanks for your time......

Hmmmm, did HD ever succeed in adding ABS to their sidecars? I really don't know but unless someone else knows, I think not. I am aware that they hadn't done it as of 2007 when I bought my last new one. In any case, even assuming that they did, there were very few sidecars sold in 2010. That's why they quit making them.

As to HD sidecars, you really would want to look around and find a TLE Ultra unit. They have a nicer seat and handholds. $3,500 is not a bad price for a clean sidecar but remember, 2000 was 12 years ago.

no matter what you do you are going to have a *h** of a time getting the mounts used.

only a sidecar mount kit that was mounted onto a 2010 bike will work - and 99% of of sidecars that are split from the bike they leave all the super expensive bits of the mount kit on the bike since they either dont know, dont care, or its just too much work.

the 2010 has a plate under the frame that bolts to both sides, and a , i think, two year only rear mount, and the 2007 to 10 front lower mount - and the front 09 10 only front upper two bolt mount - plus a special switch for the kick stand [you cant start a 2010 with the kickstand up so they make a special giz that locks the kick stand up but makes the bike still start.] and the oil pressure, rear brake banjo bolt and clips,

they DO work with abs on the 09 10

what you really want to do after you add up the bux is get one complete.
