What tires are Ural users replacing their sidefcar tire with? Can I go with
a Avon MK II?

What size wheel do you have, 18" or 19"? If you have the smaller wheel you might want to consider the Metzler Block K or the Chen Shen (sp?) sidecar tires. If you rig is well aligned most folks don't see much wear on the sidecar tire and both these tires last well. My last Metzler Block K eventually got sidewall cracks so I retired it well before it was worn out.

Re: tires, I've found the Russian tires wear longer than anything else I've tried.

As my old grandpappy used to say..."it all comes out in the wash". Motorcycle touring might be limited this summer. I'm still in pay back mode for my wife letting me take that 14 day ride across Iceland two summers ago WITHOUT her. Sometimes paybacks can be costly.
