Tri GLide triple trees
Just got home with LSQUID after a short ride. I installed Tri GLide triple trees and did the 10000 service. I am extremely pleased with the steering effort using the triglide trees. I also removed the dampener and did not try running the triglide trees with the dampener. I just went for broke and figured I could reinstall dampener if I got any shake. I took it up to 65 and ran free and easy. No need to realign the car ( I do have electric lean) and it seems like a magical fix. The only problem is the speedometer pod will not reinstall neatly. Have to figure out a fix for that so it looks neater.
For all of you HD riders pondering a triglide triple tree swap, I highly recommend it.
now to save my pennies for the new LED headlights that Harley has finally made for the Road Glide.
I thought the Tri glide came with different tress and set up over the standard Ultra and so on. I all so thought that the tubes where longer to take up for the rake.
Where did you get the electric lean for a Harley from?
Probably with what ever make of sidecar he has.
You're probably right, but I would sure like to have one for my Harley Ultra and TLE HD sidecar
That is what I have but the sidecar is just a standard not a ultra but my bike is a ultra.
Thanks
I have an FLTRU ()Road Glide Ultra, in Harley-speak) with a California Sidecar Friendship II SE. It came with the electric lean and the disk brake so I have an advantage over the Harley car. I wanted better suspension and easier access which the FS2 provides with the tilt nose. I rode a Harley w/TLE sidecar and no triple tree modifications and it was a stiff ride with serious steering effort. LSQUID steered easier and rode better than the Road King I tested but still lots of room for improvement, hence the triglide trees and next is a car tire for the rear. Have to wear out the stock harley tire first. Not sure if it will change the ride but am positive it will increase the time between tire changes.
Originally I wanted a 2 seat car but found the FS2 at a great price out in Texas so I compromised while I found out if I liked the ride. Maybe someday I will move up and get a new Kenna or something similar.
98 and up Harley sidecars have disc brakes which mine has.
what year is your Ultra? I will probably want to do the same to mine. I have a 2010. Glad to hear tri glide trees work. I can get my local shop to do the work.

Are you talking to me? My ultra is a 2002 with only 90,000 on it and my Harley sidecar is a 2006. If you are going with a HD sidecar some do not recommend chaining the trees do to the HD sidecar being rigid frame. Those I have talked to have been riding and working on HD sidecars and others for many a year. Check out the thread I started asking about this.
Now if you run a sidecar that is not a rigid frame then they say raked tree is fine. I just started this thread a few hours ago waiting on replies.

I all so started one on another forum as well. I know I am going to set mine up with the stock trees drive and tweak it before I spend that much money.
Thanks 46U, I'm getting a sidecar from motorvation in about 3 weeks I hope and I know sometime in the future I was going to want to swap out the stock trees. If tri glide trees work well for u and others, I can get my HD shop to do the swap for me. It was the info I was looking for thanks again.
I have never run tri glide trees I was just telling you what others have said. All so with tri glide trees you have to run tri glide fork tubes as they are longer to make up for the rake. I will be running all HD stock set up with stock trees. I have everything on the bike just need a day to put the car on as right now the only transportation I have is my bike. I have never drive a sidecar but if all works out will be doing a year long road trip with mine starting in 6 or so months. I do 100 percent of my own work.
The few times I let a HD shop work on it they messed some thing up. The ONLY reason I let them work on it was when I drove to Alaska and back to service it at Fairbanks HD and they even messed that up. Another time I got a bad slice in my tire on the road let Jansville Wisconsin put me a tire on and they cracked my header pipe by pushing down on the muffler to get the axle out instead of tacking them off. Then I had one recall the local HD did and I had to redo it when I got home.
When I go on my year long road trip I will take enough to do all my own work. I just do not trust any one else with my baby. I have been riding and working on them for over 40 years much of my time making my living working on them.
