Any thoughts about tire pressure for riding on snow and ice?

Drop the tire pressure unless you going to use chains or have a studded tire,,,,,But chances are that when you sober up you will change your mind 🙂

Haven't had a drink in 12 years. Perhaps that's the problem.

Mark I don't know why you would want to lower air pressure for snow, sound's like something my Dad did on the Model-T we used on the ranch way back when.

With modern tires of the correct type for Snow-n-Ice I go with more "Normal" pressures on the Wing. Running a 195-55/R16 Blizzak in back I use 36-38 lbs and for the front Avon Distanzia 38-40 lbs is just right.

When I get caught in light snow using my Summer tires, 'Stone Potenza 195-55 & Avon BT45 140-70/18, the same pressures apply but I am much more carefull due to the tread type on the front.

Should I happen to have my regular ME880 tires on the bike, normaly for 2-Wheel mode, I simply wouldn't ride in snow that was sticking or packing up. However that is unlikely with the whole selection of Wheels-n-Tires I have to choose from. 😉
After all I do have the proper tires on their own wheels on hand so I use 'em as intended.
