Well, it is done. Took a long time but is well worth it. Just changed over to a Seerite Triple Tree from Side Effects in Kamloops, British Columbia. The whole adventure started last fall when I received the new tree. Was supposed to be my winter project. Before I had a chance to do it I ended up shattering my right tibia and ankle. So much for winter project instead I was subjected to day time TV. Worst punishment a man can have. LOL Fast forward to April. Finally physically able to work on the bike again so dug into the front end. Everything was going fine till I checked the clearance between the fairing mounting frame and fork tube. It was rubbing hard. The air turned blue with the language coming out of me. No choice but to return to stock tree. Contacted Side Effects and told them the problem. Said it is a rare problem but has happened before. Too close a tolerance during manufacture of the bike. They said they would build another triple tree and send it too me. Picked up the new tree last Friday, changed it out Saturday, aligned car on Sunday and test rode. "WOW" Can not believe the difference. Went from having to put my body behind the handle bars to just sitting back and relaxing and just steering. If you are sitting on the fence about doing this modification, jump off the fence and do it. You will not believe the difference. May seem like a lot of money, but worth it.

While I am spouting off here I would like to also give a huge thanks to Peter and Donna at Side Effects for their patience during my rehabilitation (they were waiting for my stock tree as an exchange) and for the great service they gave me when the clearance problem occurred. Could not ask for better or faster service from them and always willing to give me advice on this project.

Now I am ready for Chelan Rally.

Larry
