I've got a R1200c married to a Steib 500 that's new to me. The linking work looks terrific. However, there's a farily constant pull to the right. I understand that without being able to see the work, it'll be tough for you to diagnose the problem. Are some some general things I could look at though to help figure it out?

Go to the Links & Books page on this website. Read Hal Kendal's books on this subject. It's one of those topics we are all chasing around. You can adjust the toe in of the sidecar, or the lean out of the bike, or both.

Steph,

1. Read Hal Kendall sidecar manuals ( downloadable from http://www.sidecar.com/links3.asp )
2. Be sure you have no Toe-Out (of the sidecar wheel in relation to the bike's wheel).
3. Be sure you have no Lean-In toward the sidecar (incline of the bike in relation to the pavement).
4. Start with a small Toe-In (1/4 to 1/2 of an inch maximum and try a little bit at the time)
5. After Toe-In is set as indicated above, set Lean-Out "only" if rig still pulls right. Do not set Lean-Out more than 1.5 degrees IF possible. If necessary, increase Toe-In to a maximum of 3/4 (an if frame sliders allow it) of an inch and check your rig again.
6. Try to keep sidecar wheel lead between 8 and 12 inches IF possible.
7. Monitor your rig tires wear often after adjustments are done. 8. Get in touch with other sidecarists in your area. They will help you.

Steph

I'm new to SC also. When I put mine together a Vstar 1100 and Velorex 562.It ran true and no wobble, but after taking it on some back roads I discovered it handeled awful.I've been tweaking it for a month now, moved the car ahead, toein, toeout, bike lean ect. As of this afternoon it drives quite nice. What I'm saying is go slow and a little at a time and it will come together.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll put them to good use.
