Sidecar mounting
I own a Royal Enfield 500 bullet with a Stratford Squire sidecar. I have also recently purchased a 1979 BMW R65 in mint condition and would like to know if anyone has had any joy in fitting a small sidecar to this bike? In particular, which are the best and strongest attachment points. Thanks, Colin (Port Alfred, South Africa)
Hi Colin, We have not made any left side mounts for this bike yet. The R65 is different then most other BMW's while it may look the same it is not. We make our sub frames in two parts, a front and a rear. The front ties to the top of the frame by clamping to the tube that goes between the down tubes, It then ties to both engine mounting bolts on the side of the bike. The rear sub frame replaces the center stand, and then passes under the exhaust pipe and ties back onto the side of the bike and then also ties near the top of the seat.

Thanks Jay, all noted and I will look closely at my R65 and see if I can make up the bits I need from the description you gave me. Too far away here in SA to be able to purchase the bits I need from you guys, sorry.
