Shock for a Velo 560
Does anyone know what shocks will fit my Jawa/ Velorex 560?

Howard...
I'm sure there is a replacement or one could be made.
I rebuilt the shock on my 560, changed the fluid and the seal on top. Set the spring at the stiffest setting to reduce sag when loaded.
Bitch to get it back in with the stiffest setting but now I have the closest you can get to rigid on a 560 using the stock shock.
The rubber bumper on the bottom and design of the swingarm limit the travel, I wonder if the modified updated swingarm and axle give better lift.
With the 19"wheel, modified front fender mount and a 3.50 trials tire I've got a full 10" under the frame of the tub.

Don,
The rubber bushings are shot and the shock is leaking fluid.
I'll check with Velo USA next week.
BTW I lowered my sidecar over 3". I'll post photos when I can get out.

I had to improvise and used some bonded bushings off a salvaged Honda Reflex, turned them on a lathe to fit the Velorex shock. Think I was able to purchase some pieces from NY....
The shock itself is rebuidable but it is limited. I put some stiff fluid in mine and it's holding up dry so far.
So you went lower? I needed the straddle room, I'm just an inch or so below the Greeves engine cradle...... you must be thinking of the sweepers.
