I've read that you can get seal kits for spoked rims. Can anyone explain how and if they work. I'd really like to run tubless tires on my Vulcan mostly for ease of puncture repair during travel. Thanks

I would go the easy way:
Polyurethane sealant.
The one I use for the sidecar supports (makes a nice bond and cushion between fibreglass and steel pads)is called Durethane.
The patch between base and car 22cm + 70cm needed 3 hours work to come off.

Pitched tires happened to me mostly in my early years close to home (once on 24th december at 4PM overtaking...bahhh that was nasty and ashaming at the same time), on long journeys never as i recall. (might be once with my Norton)
Good luck.
Sven
