quick disconnect...?

Holy Shi*,,,,$369.90,,,not cheap is some what of a under statment.
That's a lot of money. For that kind of dough, I'd just cap the brake lines and do a bleed job when reconnecting. I have my Ultra brake hose with a 12" extension that points vertically. When I disconnect, I just press on the bike brake and remove any air, then I cap. When reconnecting I bleed only the sidecar. It works perfectly.
$360 for a quick disconnect? I don't think so.
claude - hd will void your warranty for pulling a trailer - the dealer probably wont and the cops don't care - but the owner might care.
just because folks do something doesn't mean its a really good idea - driving while talking on the phone for instance - wont get you a ticket - but the pointy haired lawyer will take all your assets just the same.
gross vehicle weight ratings are mostly about braking horse power and less about tire capacity. the entire issue is that once the combination of the bike and sidecar or bike and trailer weighs more than the gross vehicle weight rating you need to add breaking capacity to avoid issues. the biggest issue is a pointy haired lawyer taking all your assets. the cops wont care & neither do i. but i do care if the lawyer gets all the money.
when, for whatever reason, a lawyer gets involved the question of rules and precedent will come up. the rules are "all wheels have brakes after 1980" -the precedent is that "hd installs brakes on theirs". everybody else is a lone wolf in the wilderness if the pointy haired types get involved.
do whatever you want - but keep your eyes open.

Being a lawyer (retired) myself, I always kooked at each case on its own merits. If there is negligence, then a case could proceed. If people would uinvariably do what is safe and correct, then lawyers would have nothing to do.
In California, talking on the phone while driving is a traffic offense nowadays. I still see people doing it. I keep my telephone shut off when I drive now. If I want to make a call, I wait until I am stopped.
Not all lawyers are pointy-haired, either. Some of us are missing hairs here and there. LOL.
