On the Road
Thanks to all for the encouragement, and advice on first time owners. I have my GL1500/Daytona 2+2 s/c, back from the shop and it purrs like a kitten. I have been using a dead end street in an undeveloped industrial area to practice. Have been riding back county roads and am having a blast. Got my wife into rig this afternoon and she liked it and was fairly comfortable (had to take the dog too, he thought he was a 90lb. lap dog) Just went into town to a friends and back but was really enjoying being able to share the bike thing with my wife. More time in the seat for me and we will try some longer trips. Think we will try the Angle Ride Nov 8th, it's susposed to be a slow ride with a lot of other bikes. Thanks again to all.

Snow rides sometimes get you to sweet a lot, but they definetly will teach you to ride. By the way on a rig in snow you are way safer then in a car. You know immedietely when ground grip is lost, it gives you time to react AND you have still the possibility to stear with your butt! Driving a sleigh is just as easy!
Enjoy your new life step! It's uncomparable

Sounds like alot of fun, but we don't get snow here but once every few years. Gulf Coast is great for riding, a tad bit wet but the rain does not ast all day. To try a snow ride I would have to trailer the rig just north of Omaha (wife's sister lives there) and I really do not like a trailer on snow and ice. I retired from the Marine Corps in 89 and move to the Gulf Coast to get away from snow. (spent 1/3 of my career in north east Iowa and Chicago. Anyway, thanks for the info and if I get a wild hair, I'll sure try it.

I am from the Baltic Sea coast and high humidity isn't too good for the bones. But what do I say if my wife urged me to buy a new house further down the mountain pass, because she doesn't last the cold and humidity here in the tropics. When the bones ake too much, push the rig into the desert...
Sonds like a rig is a good reason to become a "snow bird".
Best luck and enjoy every moment.
As in Utah I was taught by a Viatnam veteran: "remember you are here now!"
I try to enjoy including the hard times I pass through, because I am glad to have gotten the gift of a second change... What a great gift to be alife! "Pura vida! = Pure life!"
Best wishes.
