I'm very new to sidecars and orginally was going with the Calif. Friendship(old one), on a Virago 1000. But have recently picked up a Friendship III with a 87 Yamaha Venture. The Venture was to much work, but found another to make the sidecar switch easy. Here's the first question. Inside the sidecar trunk is a air tank and I'm guessing it is used for the air hydarulic to rise the top? From the tank there is a 3 way fitting with 1 line going to a air valve on the side of the trunk,(fill the tank with air), how much air do I put in? Then a line going to a switch up on the fairing on the bike. This switch is 2 way and has the for mention line coming from the tank and then 1 going to the hydarulic cyl on lid/top of the rig. I put 20 lbs in the air tank and with the switch in one position it goes through to the hydarulic cyl on the lid/top of the rig and in the second position it goes out through the hole in the bottom of the switch. This is the way it was hooked up when I bought the setup and the 87 Venture was still connected. Seems like something is missing to make this work or not hooked up correctly. Any help?

You mean to tell me that there isn't anyone out here that has a Frendship III hack and knows of the airlift lid? Anyone got and instructions on one of these?

I have a Friendship III attached to a 1500 GoldWing but I don't have an airlift lid, airlift seat nor air assisted lean adjustment. Sorry, I can't help you. I do have an auxilary fuel tank in the right saddle bag.

Thom, Thanks for the reply. I was begingign to think one else has one of these. I live down here south of Seattle in Kent, but come up to Oak Harbor everyonce in a while. As a matter of fact, I was just on another forum,(Vstar), letting a new guy know that lives up there, that I would come up and help him do his LED install. Just seen you said Gig Harbor, that's even closer. I just about have this rig connected and after I work out all the gremlens, I'm ready to ride!
