extra fuel cell/tank
I'm trying to figure out a good way to add a fuel tank. I've got a 2006 Ultra Classic with a 2001 TLE. I would like to know if anyone has even tried this. All suggestions are welcome.
Check out these threads to start. There has been some spirited discussion about this on this board. Check back even further in the tech discussions for more.

Bob, Thanks for the links here. It was quite helpful.

I added a 3 1/2 gallon tank, I mounted in between the bike and sidecar, it's round and looks like one you would see on a dune buggy or a Hot Rod, I used a elec. fuel pump to push the gas to my fuel line, there's check valve in the pump to limit the flow to one direction so I shut off the main tank and when the aux. tank runs dry I just turn it on and keep going. This is where I got mine: http://www.coyote-gear.com the workmanship is outstanding, the pump I used is made by Mr.Gasket, it's a mini pump that doesn't take up much room and works great for my intended use, having the extra tank makes traveling a lot nicer, a whole lot nicer.

In Hamburg used to run a Guzzi with a selfmade aluminum tank mounted inside the sidecar frame that finishes flush with it. A car gasoline pump lifted the gas into the bikes tank. And the tank was protected by a sheet metal that ends flush with the boat (as I had later on my MZ too). Result you never grab branches in the forest and don't make right turns in deep snow, but the sidecar floats up.
Fuel cell: in early 1950ies a german submarine officer kicked out his BMW R25 engine, mounted an electric motor and run it with selfmade fuel cells out of the original tank.
You know that its a patent from 1927 that was blocked to public use by US-military until 1986-88?

I was looking at those tanks on the web from coyote gear. Are they vented in anyway?
They are vented through the cap or you can get it in a non vented configuration, I vented mine myself so that any gas that might get in the vent would be vented away from the bike.
