I'm making a lift for the chair in my sidecar and will have it mounted in 2 to 3 days, so far I have around $125.00 in it, it's really quite simple to do and I would imagine others could do it also, if I can figure out how or if someone can tell me how I'll put some pic's up showing what I did and had done, if I can't for some reason then anyone that's *really* interested in doing this can email me and I'll send the pic's, I'm on dial up so it's a pain to do so NO lookey Loos Please.

I going to post what I used so that anybody that thinks they want to do it can get a idea about the area that it goes into, namely behind the seat.
The jack is a 12v 2000lbs sissior jack that,in my case sets on a piece of 5/8" alm, it could be 1/4", I'm haveing a 3/16 steel plate bent to fit the chair profile that will have a lip that will set on top of the jack, this will be bolted thru the floor with a plate on the bottom side to support the load.
To find the jack I'm talking about Goggle 12v 2000lbs jack,it has the dim's listed and there all over the place, RVer's use them a lot, mine was 52 bucks to my door.

The sidecar it's going into is a Calf. Compainion which is there smaller single seat. I think the jack has a 17" lift plenty enough for me.
So if you decide to do this get your tape out.

I'm interested in seeing pics too. I thought about those sizzor jacks for Luke a couple of years ago. Also considered one of those remote control car jacks.
Thanks,
Sidecar Ron

Hi Ron,

I've got installed and it works fine but the way the jack is made I want to tighten things up a bit, I knew it would be loose but it's too loose and it bug me so I'll tighten it up when I get time, the wife loves it and that's what it was all about.

I can send pic's if you email me at tedandlila@peoplepc.com, I'm on dial up so it takes a little time for me to send them but if you want them you'll get um.

I'd sure like to see the lift mods. My old squeeze has a hard time making the exit, ya know. Send pics to jcrow_t@bellsouth.net. Thanks.

Why not send the pictures to Ron (or Me) and ask to have them posted here. I'm on a ten meg broadband so it wouldn't be any trouble for me to post them for you.

Mike,
I have the pics. I thought I could just copy and past them and post here, but that's not working. I could forward them to you if you'd like.

Go ahead, or create an album for him and post a link. Whichever you prefer.

Mike, I created an album called "DIY Chair Lift." Can you trash the 2 duplicates? It looks like the site still doesn't like Safari.
Thanks,
Ron

It's Great that you created a album about the lift, I can make just about anything but know enough about computers to be dangerous, If you can get it on line feel free to put my address in it for any questions or help needed.

I'm not an admin here anymore. Maybe Joyce or Bob can.

Great pictures and an excellent way to lift the chair.
