Champion Escort brakes
I have an Escort with a Brembo brake caliper. It is leaking and needs rebuilt (first choice) or replaced. The only identification other than the name is 3B01 stamped into the housing. So far no one has been able to ID it. Champion tells me this is an obsolete part, and I will need to change everything including the swing arm and wheel, to the tune of $500. Does anybody have a better solution? Thanks in advance. Jim
The Calipar is a Brembo FO 4 Brembo no longer makes this. They sold the rights to another company years ago. It has been about 5 years since I tried to get one, at that time I was able to buy the last two to be had. I have checked with my Brembo supplier, they say they can not get them any longer. You may be able to find some company that still has these. Or rebuild what you have.
Of course, if you send us your swing arm and hub we get you set up.

We would change it over to the current Brembo that both we and Champion uses. We can also if need be replace the brake rotor for you. One of the things we do different then Champion is that we turn the center hole of the brake rotor out larger such that you can remove the wheel bearings and seals with out removing the rotor. On our sidecars this is not an issue as we make our own hubs that center the brake rotor, On champion sidecars they modify a trailer hub to take the brake rotor then do thier best to center the rotor on bolts that are to small, then they turn the out side of the rotor so it spins true. If you do take the rotor off of the Champion hub, the way we do it is to drill two holes into the brake rotor and the hub, We then use split pins as guide dowels so that the rotor goes on exactly as it came off.
