I would like to put a car tire on the rear of my Harley/sc-1 rig. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

I have a Dunlope 402 on it right now and with about 3500 miles on it, it's down to the wear indicators.

I've got a 2-3 thousand mile trip coming up and was thinking mabe I oughta go ahead and change it out.

If you have a 15" rear tire there are problems getting the tire to fit correctly, if you have a 16" tire there isn't a problem, there are others on this list that have done what you want to do so I'm sure your going to be hearing from them, it's a good way to go, you get really good tire mileage, like 3 to 4 times better, you might want to put a little more info in another post like year, model, rim size,,,that kind of stuff.

I've run one on my 05' goldwing for over a year and 15K......no problems. Do some interenet research. Ideal, buy a rim with an auto bead (several companies do this). I'm running my motorcycle rim personally with not issues. As for the harley, I have one, but do not run an auto tire on it, nor have I researched it. Cant be that hard to find info on the net. Good luck!

PS: Always wary of doing a major modification just prior to a trip without ample time to test it. FYI

Hi, Dundertaker. Nice to meet you at WD. I guess I never noticed your car tire on the Wing. I am working with Dauntless to get a different rim for the 1500.

I'm running a Sportsmaster GLT 165R15 on my VTX1300 made by Cooper Tires and put on by Dauntless , it is a black tire, I'll be switching out soon to a white wall probably through DStire.com they will white wall tires that aren't available in WWW, they do great work.

I would think the biggest issue will be finding a tire small enough. I think with the size tire that Wings use, you might have clearance issues, either the belt drive or the swingarm.
