Best Bars for a Hack
Good day. I'm new to the world of Sidecars. Just had an older Velorex mounted onto my Kawasaki W650. I'm wondering what would be the best bars for handling the rig? Thank you, Aldo in Jersey

I prefer Dairy Bars. Not really, actually I prefer neighborhood beer bars with lots of room around the pool table, but when I go there I have trouble handling the rig, so I leave it at home. :0)
Seriously, the farther apart your hands are the easier your handling will be. And knuckles forward. Pull backs are hard on the shoulders.

I found that item H from this site works really well for me.
Bikemaster makes a good bar at a good price. You'll need to make bushings for the smaller bars. I used aluminium tubing about 1/2" wide and cut length-wise. 4 halves for the clamps, 4 for the levers. You'll also want to go ahead and cut/grind the locating nub in the throttle housing (it's not necessary. The superbike bars are good, or what ever "H" is, too. Also, you'll probably want to spend some time re-routing cables. While you're there, pick up some steel brake line and new banjos. Really improves the brake feel.
Another good otion is 7/8 aluminium dirtbike bars with the cross member. Looks very business-like.
Think about looking for sidecar tires at some point. I think they'll help as your restricted to a fairly narrow tire.
When all done, post pix at the W650 Yahoo group.
