If you have original 1996 mounts, the rear one has changed since 1996. You will be needing one to fit your 2007 frame. There are also changes needed to the brake system on the motorcycle.
There is a whole list of things that need to be done. I suggest that you purchase the Harley sidecar manua for your year of motorcycle. They are often found on eBay or the dealer can get one for you as well.
According to the parts manuals I have the rear mount is specific for 07 and 08 only part number 87126-07. The rest of the mounts should work I think. You will all so need to up date your rear brake fluid reservoir. I am hopefully getting ready to put a 2006 Harley side car on my 2002 ultra. I am learning and have been hitting what books I have hard. I have been riding and working on Harley s none stop for all most 40 years but just learning about sidecars.
the lower front right is also specific to 07 and 08, the left is not

After checking you are so correct as they have a -07 number. COOL

The 2002 Ultra was the first year of the two bolt rear mount. I have a 2007 sidecar with 2004 - 2005 Vivid Black and two silver stripes. It was ordered in October, 2006 and received in January 2007. Documents say it's a 2007 but they bave me a 2005 Owner's Manual. Go figure.
My point: if you have the 2006 rear mount (87114-93A) it will fit on your 2002 Ultra. I'd have to check the book to see if you use the 87115-03 rollover switch or whetehr your bike uses the turn signals to change code to sidecar.
Yes I will need a rollover switch. After some more research the 02 and 06 use the same mounts all around please correct me if I am wrong. Starting to get more expensive then I first thought. Would not bother me if it where not for the fact I have been out of a steady job of all most a year. Been selling my 20s and 30s HD parts to do this and other up grades to my 02 Ultra.
its possible to get missing parts on ebay
ive gotten a roll over switch and the latch on ebay for 1/4 of new price
it would be possible to modify the lower rear mounts from one to another - grind drill locktight
the main thing is to have a used sidecar that is "complete" then all thats a hassle is what changed.

Yep, like I said, 2006 mounts will fit 2002. You shouldn't need too many parts:
Brake lever
Longer clutch cable
Remote reservoir and master cylinder cover, remote hose.
90 degree pipe elbow for oil pressure sender (3/8" pipe?)
Brake tee
Steering damper bracket for lower triple tree
Maybe rollover switch. It's a safety device but none of the bikes had the capability before 2003. I forget which year could switch the TSSM with the turn signals - 2001 and 2002, IIRC.
The sidecar comes with the steering damper bracket for the lower tree. I am guessing the rear brake pedal is the older short one? What is the reason for the longer clutch cable? Do they make lower vented fairings to use with a sidecar?
yes the brake pedal is the old short one, the longer clutch cable goes down the left tube and then across under the engine
rather than down the right tube
thats why on my 2000 bike i installed a hyd clutch kit - i could route the hose down the right side and around the mounts and its no issue - with a clutch cable it has to be smooooth.
the right lower is not vented - but eglide and a few others make vents that will work with a little kit bashing.

Yep, what you said is correct, except the sidecar brake lever has a -02 part number. I suspect that there is some minor change from the "Lay Down" lever that came with my 2004 Ultra.
The hydraulic kits are nice but pricey. Instead I bought the lighter clutch lever kit that HD brought out a few years ago (2006?) and that made for a nice easy lever.
I bought the standard TLE sidecar for my Ultra since I really had no use for the radio attachments. The wife seldom rides with me anymore and when she does she likes the scenery more than the radio . Also, the Ultra was a couple of thousand bucks more. LOL.
I routed the passenger headphone connector around the seat and clamped it to the right side saddlebag tubes. When my SO rides, she just plugs her headphone into the connector and all is well. That way I can hear her screams when I take a corner too fast. Hahahahaha.
I got a brand new sidecar right side fairing on eBay and painted, striped and clear-coated it to match the paint on the bike and sidecar. I like to use the fairings all of the time. Some say that they cause overheating but with a Harley it's all relative. I keep moving when I ride. No parades for me. Keep the engine rolling over and you won't get any overheating.
In any case, with the cost of the sidecar fairing, I won't be cutting any vent holes in mine. They are wicked expensive!
I must say, the present rig that I have has been great from day one. I wish Harley-Davidson would get busy when the recession is over and start advertising them. The trikes are OK too, I guess but I'll take a sidecar any time. They are just an elegant mode of transportation.
Happy Trails!
Does this site always has problems or is in my computer. Sure get a lot of time outs.
I have Harley s low effort clutch kit but not real crazy about it as it has a much weaker spring and much of the reduce effort is do to the weaker spring. I am going to run the MCR clutch release set up and keep the stock clutch spring. I am getting ready to put a lot of upgrades on my bike I have been collection for a few years.

$2,000 for a lower first gear? Are you talking about changing to a six speed transmission? I changed to 3.37:1 for $300 and that's all I need.
The Harley lighter clutch has a better ramp. I have that in my bike and the clutch doesn't slip so no problem.

If you click on the link in my post it will answer all your questions. It is the kit with that first gear ratio which is close to stock. I have been places packed up on road trips if my first was any higher I would have had to get off and push. The kit comes in two different first gear ratio and I did not pay any where near list or even what is on Baker web site. I got it for quite a bit cheaper then what HD wants for there SE 6 speed with straight cut gears that has noise problems.
I have the Harley low effort clutch kit and know what it comes with but a BIG part of the clutch being easier is the fact it has a WEAKER spring. I have the Harley kit I will sell cheap new in the box if any one is interested. With the MRC clutch release set up you have less effort then the HD kit and retain the stronger spring. Been riding and working on Harley s none stop for 40 years and many of those years is how I made my living. I have a engine machine shop in my basement and could buy 5 or 6 new ultras or more in what I have in machines and tools.
I am new to sidecars not motorcycles.
